An innovative construction technique, the Pre-Freb wall system enables ease and allows for time-saving in conventional construction systems. It has added properties of insulation which plays a very important role in passive solar techniques for the cold desert climate of Ladakh.

It allows for speed in construction as the blocks are pre-cast, better insulation as it makes use of insulative materials like straw and it also provides compressive strength. The blocks can also be reinforced using TMT bars, cement and sand.
Pre-Freb when structurally enhanced with conventional or modern techniques like concrete, steel and timber, could be a solution for a modular multi-storey composite structure with natural materials.
