Ice Stupa Team conducted survey in Leh, Kargil & Zanskar Region(s)

Last week the Ice-Stupa team of the Himalayan Institute of Alternatives, Ladakh embarked on its final survey of Ice-Stupas which was conducted in 11 villages across Leh, Kargil & Zanskar regions. The Ecology course interns actively participated and visited the sites as part of their internship curriculum and got an in-depth knowledge of various aspects of Ice-Stupas. Their visit focused on using a drone to measure the dimensions of various ice stupas to determine how much water was conserved. The villages the team visited are: – Ang Temisgam – Hordas – Sanjak Phosa – Umba – Chumikchan Sankoo – Barchey Landok – Barchey Doks – Apathi – Stongdey – Horchet and – Baroo.
