Ice Stupa Competition Workshop

Teams from 11 Ladakhi villages to build Ice Stupas

As part of its efforts to spread the artificial glacier technology in Ladakh, the Ice Stupa team held a workshop for the participants of this winter’s (2018-2019) Ice Stupa competition. People from 11 villages within Ladakh attended the workshop. The Ice Stupa team familiarized them with the history, uses and process involved in the construction of Ice Stupas. They also discussed various challenges that can be encountered in the construction phase and how to work around them. The teams left with high spirits and are now ready to start storing ice in their villages!
