The much-awaited 12-day international festival will take place on the HIAL site in Phyang. Participants will get to work alongside architects and innovators who have been experimenting with new building techniques. They will learn the essentials of eco-friendly & responsive earth building construction techniques with experts from India & across the globe.
SECMOL, with 23 years of experience in natural building, has been organizing Earth and Solar courses for participants from different parts of the world. In 2018, the Sun and Earth Festival was organised for the first time at HIAL. This year we shall continue the tradition at HIAL for the second consecutive year.
Last year, participants and experts from over 15 countries converged in Ladakh and led a series of hands-on workshops on earth building techniques like rammed earth, cob, adobe, earth plasters, and passive design principles for climate-responsive buildings. This year promises to be equally enriching with workshops on urban planning, natural building, and a field trip to observe the local architectural marvels in Ladakh.
